BER Certs
The Building Energy Rating (BER) certificate gives your building's energy rating. This is an indication of the energy performance of the dwelling. The assessment covers energy use for space, heating, water heating, ventilation and lighting, calculated on the basis of standard occupancy and taking into account any insulation installed. The rating is expressed as primary energy use per unit floor area per year (kWh/m sq./yr) and then converted into a scale of A to G. 'A' rated properties are the most energy efficient and will tend to have the lowest energy bills per unit floor area.

Building Energy Rating (BER) Assessment
From the beginning of 2009 all new and existing homes offered for sale or to let require a Building Energy Rating (BER) certificate. Artane Bathroom Installations are trained BER assessors and can issue Building Energy Rating Certificates for your home. The BER certificate provides information on how energy efficient the building is to the prospective purchaser / tenant. Our BER assessors will survey your building and enter the information into our Dwelling Energy Assessment Procedure software (DEAP). Calculations depend on all water heating and room heating systems, building insulation as well as ventilation and lighting etc. The calculation will also make allowances for any renewable energy systems used e.g. solar panels as well as the energy efficiency rating of your boiler.BER Certificates
The building's rating will range from A1 for a very energy efficient house to G at the bottom of the scale. The purpose of the BER certificate is simply to inform the prospective tenant or buyer how energy efficient the house is. However, each assessment will come with an Advisory Report on how to carry out cost effective measures to improve your energy rating.Cost of a BER Assessment
There are different costs for assessing different types of buildings, i.e. detached house, terraced house or apartment. We will be happy to answer any questions you may have.Contact us to have one of our registered BER assessors call out at your convenience.
